Mud

Haiti has many blessings to offer and a couple of challenges.

Mud

This is part of the road between Pignon and Hinche after a night of rain. The flatbed truck is in the ditch. The white pickup ran into the truck trying to get around the flatbed. (Haitian drivers can have a lack of patience). The front loader eventually pushed the flatbed up the hill a few feet at a time. 90 minutes later our team was walking up the hill while our driver floored the gas pedal of our Landcruiser all the way up. No way we were riding up that hill. Liz calls this place the “hill of doom.” Jim called it the “hill of many muds.”
